The essence of economic risk, its effect on the results and the stability of the gas industry enterprises activities held. Modern methods of the risk management at the enterprises analyzed. A new concept of the risk management, based on the use of derivative instruments offered. The risk management system of the gas industry enterprises through the development of option strategies improved. Namely, strategy of foreign exchange and interest rate risk management are developed. Studies of the formation of European vanilla options prices, with changes affecting the market parameters are carried out. Based on these studies, the method for selecting the best option strategies, tailored to the specific objectives of the enterprise in the management of risk, is proposed.
