Essay

The dissertation is devoted to research of peripheral nerves' tumors' clinical flow peculiarities, to estimation of instrumental diagnostics methods value and efficacy of different kinds of surgical treatment in 112 patients with neurinomas and neurofibromas of peripheral nerves, have been treated in different neurosurgical departments of Ukraine from 1976 to 2009. Neurinomas were found in 60 (73%) cases, neurofibromas - in 29 (97%).Peripheral nerves' tumors are usually diagnosed in patients aged from 22 to 60 years; age of patients with neurinomas in average was 45±16 years, with neurofibromas - 42±12 years. Most of patients with neurinomas and neurofibromas were female; mostly left sided nerves' damage was identified. Common symptoms were the main signs of the disease: tumor-like formation in the region of damaged peripheral nerve, pain and lesion, caused by nerve trunk conductive disfunction.Neurovizualization helps to differentiate nerve's tumor from soft tissues' formations, to identify it's localization and relations with surrounding tissues. Electroneuromyography helps to identify the grade of nerve trunk conductive disfunction and also to give off and maintain normal nerve fibres during surgical intervention. Main method of neurinomas and neurofibromas treatment is surgical. Tsymbaliuk V.I. method is most effective for peripheral nerves' nonmalignant tumors removing, it allows to save intact nerve fibres.
