Shchegel S. Enterprise development: intellectual and investment support (based on pharmaceutical enterprises of Ukraine)

This thesis focused on research of theoretical aspects of innovative development of Ukrainian pharmaceutical companies. It also concentrates on elaboration of methodical tools for intellectual investment which would ensure sustainable growth of national pharmaceutical enterprises. Thorough analysis of the basic categories related to the process of companies' intellectual development and investment had been conducted, which allowed to better understand the essence of this process and to identify its peculiarities in order to elaborate appropriate management mechanisms. This thesis also suggests an improved method for generalized qualitative evaluation of effectiveness of formation and utilization of innovative capital in pharmaceutical companies in Ukraine. The mathematical model for intellectual and investment development of pharmaceutical enterprises proposed in this thesis shows the major growth factors such as the level of utilization of intellectual resources, innovation rate of products, financial support for innovative development etc. The thesis also presents the set of measures for supporting innovative development of national pharmaceutical sector. Implementation of such measures would facilitate integration of Ukrainian manufactures into global drug market. Evaluating and analyzing the effects of implementation of the proposed measures, it is expected that such key indicators as index of innovation activity and return on assets would increase.
