Miroshnichenko Y. Providing socio-economic efficiency of suburban rail passenger transportation in Ukraine

The object of research is processes of organizational and economic development of suburban rail passenger transportation.The aim is improvement of theoretical and methodological basis, and substantiation of scientific and practical recommendations for providing socio-economic efficiency of passenger transportation at the cost of changes in organizational and legal management form and creation of municipal railway enterprises (carriers, forwarders). Methods are logical conclusions and logical modelling, comparative and factor analyses, analogies, graphic, autoregressions and variable average, formalized. Practical importance of results obtained is designing state-of-the-art approach towards higher socio-economic efficiency of suburban rail traffic in Ukraine. Implementation level implies that a set of suggestions proposed in the thesis can be implemented for working out strategy for development of domestic railway transport in reforming. Some items of the thesis can be applied in the educational process of Ukrainian State Academy of Railway transport, Institute of retraining and advanced training and during writing Master's and Specialist's diploma. Scientific novelty of the results implies improvement of concept of socio-economic efficiency of rail passenger transportation, methodological approach towards tariff calculation for passenger transportation of social level, methodological approach towards calculation of compensation by a carrier costs on electrical train movement and usage of infrastructure in suburban transportation incurred by the railway, further development of evaluation criteria calculation of capital investments in railway passenger transport as the object of social investments, formation of system of socio-economic factors influencing railway service customers' demand, definition of 'reforming' and 'restructuring' of railway transport, conceptual approach towards formation of organizational and legal form of management for suburban passenger transportation and substantiation of choice regarding the carrier - railway interaction mechanism.
