It is determined for the first time a cause-and-effect relation between changes in the composition and microfractures of the material of the reactor walls on the flow of impurities in the titanium sponge unit. Reduction of TiCl4 at a la carte-periodic supply of magnesium can improve the quality of titanium sponge by reducing the income of its impurities, to intensify the process of restoring tetrachloride titanium and magnesium and increase the efficiency of vacuum separation of 10...15 %, which in turn reduces energy consumption and improves the performance of process equipment.
