Salo S. Diagnosis, prevention and treatment in stent restenosis in coronary arteries among patients with coronary heart disease

Ph.D. thesis in specialty 14.01. 04 - Cardiovascular Surgery. SI "Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery NAMS of Ukraine". The scientific work is dedicated to the improvement of quality of life of patients with coronary artery disease, among whom in stent restenosis occurred after implantation of the endoprosthesis in the coronary arteries, due to improving the efficiency of diagnosis and endovascular treatment. The research results in new data on the morphology of in stent restenosis. Efficacy and safety of the replacement of coronary arteries, and endovascular treatment of in stent restenosis of patients with atherosclerotic lesions of the coronary arteries are presented. The criteria of selection of interventional methods of the effective treatment of restenosis in stent are defined. The usage of intravascular ultrasound in the intraoperative diagnosis of restenosis is introduced. The method of endovascular treatment of in stent restenosis is developed as a combination of balloon-catheter angioplasty with microsurgical blades and implantation of the endoprosthesis, which selects antiproliferative drug in the area of restenosis.
