Gumen O. Harp in Ukraine: the composer and performing aspects.

For the first time in Ukrainian musicology special comprehensive study of harp culture in Ukraine of composers and performers and pedagogical aspects are done in the thesis. The conditions of formation of harp playing art are determined and creative works by Ukrainian composers and artists who worked outside Ukraine, within the style of barokko-classicism and romanticism are considered. Concert works for harp of modern Ukrainian composers are analyzed: solo and ensemble – by Y. Ishchenko, G. Liashenko, O. Nakonechnyi, V. Zhuravytskyi, I. Matsijevs'kyi, B. Stronko, A. Mucha, Zh. Kolodub, V. Zagortsev, O. Kryvolap; works of great form – by A. Kos-Anatolskyi, Y. Ishchenko, V. Zagortsev, G. Liashenko, V. Kikta. Harp functions, defined by author's idea, in symphony and opera and ballet scores are studied.
