Essay

The administrative-legal status of special administrative-territorial formations' regimes was researched in the dissertation. The author studied and analyzed existing views and scientific approaches to the regimes of special administrative-territorial formations, generalized classifications of special administrative-territorial formations (since pre-revolutionary Russia till nowadays), and suggested new criteria for these formations' differentiation. The author's definition of the notion of administrative-territorial formation was given and their characteristics were completed.
