Essay

Object - patients with chronic heart failure (CHF) NYHA functional classes І - ІV. Purpose - to increase the diagnostic efficacy of an anemic syndrome in patients with CHF and determine adverse prognostic criteria for CHF with varying degrees of anemia, basing on the study of kidney function, and serum levels of cholesterol and erythropoietin (EPO). Methods - clinical, laboratory, instrumental, statistical. Novelty - the first time is determined that the presence of anemia in patients with CHF is accompanied by deterioration in the quality of life, commonly reduced cholesterol levels, worse parameters of renal function, and poor prognosis for uneventful survival for 1.5 years. For the first time it was established that blood cholesterol level is directly connected with hemoglobin level and inversely connected with EPO level. First time was established that majority of patients with anemic syndrome and CHF usually have high levels of EPO. In case of hyperEPO the most unfavorable course of CHF is observed. Results - evaluation of the parameters of lipid metabolism, renal function, EPO levels, and patient's questionnairing may optimize the diagnosis of CHF in patients with anemic syndrome. Predictors of unfavorable prognosis within 18 months were identified in patients with CHF and anemic syndrome; introduced into the practice of medical institutions, scientific and methodical process. Field - medicine.
