Yakubovskyi V. Long-wavelength dyes derived from 4,4-difluoro-4-bora-3a,4a-diaza-s-indacene

The thesis is devoted to the synthesis and study of the spectral luminescent properties of boron dipyrromethenes (BODIPYs) and the polymethine dyes derived from them. Вoron dipyrromethene nucleus have been modified at the meso- and ?-positions by introducing polymethine dye residues to yield a number of deeply coloured derivatives. The research on their spectral luminescent properties has demonstrated that in terms of the colour nature, they are essentially the merocyanine dyes. Convenient synthetic accesses to mono- and diacetaldehydo-substituted BODIPYs have been elaborated. The compounds obtained have afforded a number of symmetrically and unsymmetrically substituted vinyl derivatives as well as unsymmetric systems containing condensed heterocyclic moieties.
