Paliychuk A. The Intimization Narrative Code (on the material of the English literary discourse)

The dissertation presents an integrated cognitive-communicative approach to the analysis of intimization in the English literary discourse. The aim of the dissertation lies in the revelation and classification of the linguistic means used to shorten the narrative distance between the author and the reader. The object of the research is the English short story discourse and the subject - linguistic means creating the effect of ingenuous, immediate and friendly communication via a fiction text. The scientific novelty of the thesis lies, first of all, in the attempt to analyze the intimization communicative strategy role in the determination of the peculiarities of the author's individual style. The theoretical value of the dissertation lies in its contribution to the development of communicative linguistics and pragmatics. The practical results of it can be used in lectures in the stylistics of English, in the electives in pragmatics, sociolinguistics and discourse studies and can serve as a tool for the linguistic authorship expertise.
