The thesis is devoted to the theoretical and practical issues of legal relations in the sphere of social security of population. On the basis of the existing scientific methods and concepts there were given definition to such notions as: 'social state', 'social protection', 'social security', 'social risk', 'classification of legal relations'.There was made a complex analysis of current legal regulation of relations in the sphere of social security, based on the international, European and national experience, and given propositions concerning improvement of legislation of Ukraine.
