The thesis focuses on the research of socio-pragmatic and stylistic characteristics of modern English-speaking animated comedies. The paper advances a systematic approach to the study of the mechanisms of humor creation in such texts. Chapter 1 "Genre of modern animated comedy as an object of linguistic research" illustrates existing approaches to the study of creolized texts, grounds the research of animated comedy as a linguistic object, and seeks to define the main peculiar features of modern English-speaking animated comedies, their comic potential and extralingual factors of humor creation.
