Theoretical and methodological basis of the development of agricultural enterprises are researched in the thesis. The essence of the category "the development of agricultural enterprise" is considered and its peculiarities in the researched region are determined. It is made the estimation of the development of agricultural enterprises and their efficiency as to administrative districts separately and 225 enterprises which keep full accounting. The analysis of production profitability of territories separately, as to the groups of big-sized, medium-sized and small-sized enterprises is made. The factors of the efficiency and their degree of the influence on the appropriate indicators are determined according to the correlation and regression analysis. The perspective directions of the development of agricultural enterprises and possible parameters of economic formations are outlined. The directions of transferring of agricultural enterprises of the region on the innovation and investment model of the development are grounded.
