Essay

Important biophysical problems of revealing exhaustive conformer families for canonical 2'-deoxyribonucleotides - 5'-deoxycytidylic, 5'-thymidylic, 5'-deoxyadenylic and 5'-deoxyguanylic acids - and of studying their physical and energetical properties (structural nonrigidity, vibrational variability and relative energies of 2'-deoxyribonucleotides and their sugar-phosphate backbone DNA-like conformations; H-bonds and other intramolecular non-covalent interactions, responsible for stabilizing conformers' structures; influence of dielectric environment on the structure of energetically most favorable structures of canonical 2'-deoxyribonucleotides etc) have been solved with quantum-mechanical methods.
