Financial intermediary activity. The scientific ground of essence of financial mediation, features of functioning, and development of directions of improvement of state regulation in Ukraine. Methods: analysis and synthesis, classification, systematization and verification, comparison and generalization, economic and statistical, modeling, expert estimations. The results received during performance of research, supplement and develop the theoretical aspects of functioning of financial mediation and features of state regulation. The conclusions, suggestions and recommendations formulated in the dissertation can be used in the process of decisions in relation at improving of public policy in a financial sector. The analytical model is developed for measuring of stability of financial mediation on the basis of indicators stability of fund and insurance markets, openness of national economy, monetary stability. The role of institutional factors in explanation of fluctuations of financial mediation was grounded. The methodical approaches to the forming in Ukraine of organizational and economic mechanism of state regulation of financial mediation are inculcated.
