The thesis researches theoretical grounds of the technological approach formation in the science of investigation. Historical prerequisites and current factors of formation of the notion investigation technologies are defined. Principal essential characteristics of investigation technologies are singled out; the author’s notion of investigation technologies is defined. Theoretical and practical significance of investigation technologies as a constituent conceptual category of the science of investigation is grounded. The research defines the nature of the technological approach as a regularity research area in the realization of complex interrelated actions and procedures. The technological approach is considered in the system of general theoretical, technical investigation, tactical and methodological aspects of the science of investigation.
