Filipovich M. Polotsk land in narrative and act sources (the second half of the XIII - the first half of the XVI centuries)

The thesis is based on the Belarusian-Lithuanian annals and chronicles, Polotsk public act documents (the second half of the XIII - the first half of the XVI centuries), taking into account the peculiarities of their creation, foreign and political circumstances, images of authors and clients, conscious and mental stereotypes. It is considered the principles of Polotsk land image in Old Rus and Belarusian-Lithuanian chronicles. The peculiarities of the origin, sources, the authorship problem of "A story about Polotsk" - a compound part of the second Belarusian-Lithuanian chronicle have been researched. The integral complex of Polotsk act materials has been analysed. On the basis of Polotsk documents specific features of the internal order of Polotsk land in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania have been studied.
