Essay

This dissertation examines the dynamical pattern of serum levels of transforming growth factor-beta1 (TGF-beta1) in patients with essential hypertension (EH) with or without diabetes mellitus (DM) type 2; the connections between the level of this factor and peculiarities of development of the EH and DM type 2. The patients with EH and DM type 2 had significantly higher levels of this factor when compared to the patients with EH only. It is determined that the antihypertensive therapy with perindopril combined with nebivolol and indapamid when used with atorvastatin and metformin therapy most efficiently lowers the level of TGF-beta1.
