Essay

The thesis is devoted to philosophical and religious analysis of mythological consciousness, especially its function in contemporary social and cultural space. The thesis analyzes the mythological consciousness in the interconnection of social, cultural processes in society, with the processes of human life in general. Mythological consciousness appears in connection with the understanding of man as "playing creatures". Modern mythology in contrast to ancient mythology is a conglomerate of various kinds of elements, which contain not only archaic, but also a quasimythical, rationalized and super-ideological elements. Human beliefs, which in ancient mythological consciousness based on immediate sensory reality reproduction, in modern mythology, are mediated by a complex system of specifically rationalized (with the inverted forms of substantive relations) connections with ideology. Today's processes, particularly those occurring in the media, as well as trends of flame of the alternative religious faiths, rupture from traditional forms of religious beliefs, manifested as a modern mythology product and they stimulate and promote to the further existence of modern man in a system of mythic or inessential public relations.
