Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the development of compositions and technology of producing new low-temperature and wear-resistant glass ceramic materials on the basis of silicon carbide and electrocorundum in the of silicate presence binders. Features of interaction processes of SiС powders are investigated at temperatures 1200 - 1300 with experimental glasses received in Na2O-CaO-SiO2 system. It is experimentally established that additives of manganese ore more actively than iron ore concentrate promote sintering of corundum ceramics and obtaining of materials with dense structure. It is shown that reinforcing of electrocorundum powders by silicon carbide grains in 10 mas.% improves mechanical characteristics of glass ceramics. It is experimentally proved that introduction from 4 to 8 mas.% of zol - gel compositions received in Na2O - CaO - Al2O3 - SiO2 system into the structure of glass ceramic silicon-carbide materials makes sintering process active. At the same time the decrease of sintering temperature, increase of durability and wear - resistance of experimental ceramics is achieved thanks to the combined glassy binder use. The developed wear-resistant glass ceramic materials based on silicon carbide and electrocorundum have passed successful industrial tests and are accepted to introduction instead of alloyed Mn steels components.
