Essay

The dissertation is concerned on process of formation and synthesis of urea-formaldehyde resins (UFR) with reduced content of free formaldehyde, with the urea-to-formaldehyde mole ratio of 1:4 - 1:1,45 - 1:1,33, depending on such synthesis factors. UFR containing no free formaldehyde have been produced by way of introducing аcetylacetone- and ammonia-based additives to finished UFR. It has been established that аcetilacetone behaves in reaction with formaldehyde and the functional groups of resins by the Hantzsch reaction. . Production of chipboards with reduced content of free formaldehyde from synthesized UFR has been described.
