The thesis focuses on the comprehensive analysis of the verbalized concept EDUCATION in English, French, Ukrainian and Russian languages. The research analyzes the lexical representation of the concept EDUCATION. The status of the concept EDUCATION in English, French, Ukrainian and Russian languages is determined. It has been found that the presentation of the concept EDUCATION is similar in the languages under study, which is proved by the shared structure of the concept. It has been established that the languages under analysis represent the concept EDUCATION as the process of purposeful controlled influence of one person on another living being as a whole or some of its features. The components of the conceptual sphere of education have been analyzed in the compared languages and the degree of the discreteness of the conceptual sphere has been established. Special attention is paid to the semasiological and onomasiological analysis of key lexical units that verbalize concept EDUCATION in English, French, Ukrainian and Russian languages. Onomasiological analysis allows to determine categories that are subordinate or superodinate to education. It has been proved that in English and French languages most conceptual components are expressed by separate lexical units, Ukrainian and Russian languages express different conceptual components by one lexeme.
