Essay

Scope of research - grass seeds pile and its drying process. The objective is the intensification of the drying process of grass seeds pile through the mixing of material layer considering its structural characteristics in the proposed dryer. Research methods. In carrying out theoretical studies, the structural analysis and synthesis, methods of drying theory, mathematical modeling and classical mechanics, the planning of multifactor experiments and statistical data using computer technology were used. Experimental studies were conducted according to the industry and developed methodic at specially designed and produced stations in laboratory and production conditions. For the first time ever in modeling the drying process of seed material in a thick layer, the factor of drying rate for seed grasses was set; the dependencies for defining the changes in the airflow speed according to the height of the seed pile were theoretically substantiated depending on the changes in its structural characteristics, the theoretical relationship between the movement of material layer through the spiral surface to establish the time of its stay in the area of the drying agent was substantiated; the studies of the kinetics of grass seeds pile drying in view of the drying agent supply were deployed. The design innovation of technical solutions is confirmed by one patent of Ukraine for invention (Pat. Ukraine № 85766) and two patents for a utility model (Pat. Ukraine № 36392, № 27977). Production trials have established the economic feasibility and technical and economic efficiency of the dryer.
