Essay

The peculiarities of peripheral and autonomic neuropathy in 120 children with diabetes mellitus type 1 were studied. It was confirmed, that poor glycemic control and duration of the disease are the factors of the progression of the neurological complications in diabetes mellitus type 1. It was found, that endothelial dysfunction has adverse effect on the function of autonomous nervous system. The role of genetic factors in the development of neurological complications and endothelial dysfunction in diabetes mellitus type 1 were specified. Analysis of diagnostic efficiency of cardiovascular tests and cardiointervalography for detecting of autonomous neuropathy in children with diabetes mellitus type 1 was performed. The method determining degree of nerve conduction disturbances, modification of the methodology of the electroneuromyography study in children with diabetes mellitus type 1, addition of the modern classification of diabetic polyneuropathy was proposed.
