Mishchenko O. The formation of exegetical method in medieval philosophy.

The object is a medieval exegetics in historical and philosophical horizon of modern hermeneutics. The aim is to expose the features of the formation of exegetical method in medieval philosophy in the prospects of modern hermeneutics. The methods are discursive approaches of phenomenology and philosophical hermeneutics. The formation of exegetical method is shown by the example of interpretational theories of Philo of Alexandria, Origen of Alexandria, Tertullian, Augustine of Hippo, Peter Abelard, Thomas Aquinas and William of Ockham. The metaphorical character of the exegesis of Greek patristics and the allegorical character of the exegesis of Latin patristics is shown. The problem of symbol in the interpretational practices of the medieval realism is analyzed. The problem of plurality of interpretations and sign nature of the nominalistic exegesis is studied. The differences between exegetical practices of patristical and scholastical methods are elicited. Application sphere is the training courses.
