Goian A. Phraseological units in contemporary German periodicals: structural, semantic, and functional aspects

The most frequently used phraseological units, their functions and modifications have been determined. The peculiarities of the functioning of phraseological units have been studied in various types of newspaper discourse. The psycholinguistic experiment made it possible to identify the set phrases not registered in dictionaries but well-known and used by German native speakers. The use of the quantitative and qualitative analyses enabled the realization of the phraseological fragment of the linguistic worldview to be examined in contemporary German periodicals, and the basic concepts with the peculiarities of their verbalization by means of customary and modified phraseological units to be specified.
