The process of formation, development and application of machine-building enterprise's organizational flexibility is the object of the dissertation research. The theoretical and applied principles of organizational flexibility formation, development under the influence of unstable external economic environment and the application to the machine-building enterprise's productivity enhancement are the purposes of the research. Statistical and factor analysis, systematization and generalization, peer reviews, group, comparative, economic and mathematical methods and models are used during the study. The theoretical position, methodological approaches, research and practical recommendations on the formation, development and application of machine-building enterprise's organizational flexibility are introduced. Real opportunities for evaluation of organizational flexibility total degree, level of external economic environment instability; adjustment of the organizational flexibility total degree to the level of external economic environment instability; improvement of the machine-building enterprise's productivity as a result of achieving and maintaining recommended organizational flexibility total degree are the results of the study. A model of the external economic environment instability impact on organizational flexibility and machine-building enterprise's performance based on the author's organizational flexibility estimation methods is formed. The organizational flexibility parameters classification, a Duncan's measure of environment instability, the machine-building enterprise's performance determining method are improved. The definition and the transformational organizational flexibility model are evolved. Developed guidelines to assess the external economic environment instability level, organizational flexibility total degree, machine-building enterprise's performance level, as well as the suggestions for the organizational flexibility total degree correction due to the external economic environment instability level are used in a number of Lviv region machine-building enterprises and in the learning process of the Lviv Polytechnic National University. Author's recommendations can be implemeted in the machine-building enterprises workig process.
