Essay

Dissertational work is devoted to research of process of refinement metal in converter, including in the conditions of imposition of low-voltage potential, with a research of character of its action on slag and metal phases during the converting and working out of a new technology which provides increase the residual maintenance of manganese and increase of efficiency of desulfurization. It is used: the statistical analysis, physical laboratory modeling, industrial experiments, physical chemistry methods, physical and chemical modeling, the analysis of phase structure, with application of diagrams of fusion. The alternating character of influence of low voltage potential on the oxidation-reduction reaction during the blowing out of metal is determined. For the achievement of increase of residual maintenance of mangan in metal and desulfurization during the melting the necessity of changing of the polarity of potential is founded: positive polarity at the first and last third of blowing out and negative polarity and the middle. For the first time it is established that: at potential imposing to 30 % of duration of a blowing out ferrite complexes are formed with 2CaOSiO2 that without influences it is reached after 50 - 60 % of duration of blowing out; at negative polarity the increase of desulfurization is reached, basically, in an middle part of blowing out for the slag, and at positive polarity the share of transfer of sulphur in gas increases; course of processes of slag formation and metal refinements is defined by feature of influence of polarity of potential on process of formation of iron oxides in slag; potential imposition changes the activities, average charges and equilibrium concentration of components of metal and slag during the certain periods of a blowing out, that creating conditions for restoration of manganese and sulphur removal. The developed technology is introduced on the oxygen converter. Use branch - metallurgy.
