Tereshchenko K. Social-psychological factors of development of national identity of Ukrainians and Russians in Ukraine.

The dissertation is dedicated to the analysis of social-psychological factors of development of national identity of Ukrainians and Russians in Ukraine. The work contains the theoretical substantiation, methodological basis and empirical investigation findings. The work reveals the national identity as a type of social identity of personality. The author analyzes the correlations between the national identity of Ukrainians and Russians in Ukraine and social-psychological determinants (ethnic and civil identity, patriotic and nationalistic attitudes, multicultural attitudes, ethnic stereotypes, interpersonal trust ant trust to social institutions, conformism, etc), social-demographic determinants (age, gender), educational-professional determinants (educational level, type of occupation), and regional factors (type of region). The dissertation discusses the types of associations between national identity and social-psychological determinants in Ukrainians and Russians. The students' national identity formation training course has been elaborated and approbated and the psychological conditions of its implementation have been determined.
