Essay

The thesis work provides definition and assessment of ring joints of A400C and A500C steel and the effect of ring joints in reinforced concrete structures calculation. Mechanical characteristics of A500C reinforcing bars have been analyzed and mechanical joints by ring pressing as well as steel having conical and cylinder threads and bolt joints have been studied also. The effect of strength deformability of joints, stiffness and crack resistance of bending steel elements are defined. The service coefficient of ring joints with conical thread is obtained. The curves showing stress distribution along the length of mechanical ring joint of steel with conical and cylinder thread at yield point are given. It is shown in the work that bending concrete elements having mechanical joint with conical thread should be calculated according to the DBN V.2.6-98 procedure however the service coefficient should be taken into account. The economic feasibility of mechanical ring joint is calculated and proves the economic effect of ring joint in comparison with ordinary joint design (welding, overlap joint).
