Essay

The dissertation thesis represents a research of the theoretical and methodological approaches to raising efficiency of the suburban passengers transportation under the conditions of reforming railways. This raising is owing to: - development of the economic approaches to grounding expediency of the introduction of new methods and improvement of the existing methods of the organization of the suburban trains traffic; - development of the new principles of the cost price formation as for the separate passenger suburban train, thus reducing its unprofitability; - formation of the scientifically valid and socially grounded tariffs concerning the passengers' transportation in the suburbs. To minimize the exploitation expenses of the company for suburban passengers transportation the new economically grounded principle is proposed in this dissertation. This principle deals with the traffic of the zone suburban trains at the definite separate directions of traffic. The latter allows to reduce the term of their turnover with all the subsequent positive economic aftermaths. The new theoretic and methodologic approach to the estimation of the expenses for the separate suburban train is developed taking into account the type of the rolling stock, characteristics of the speed, comfort and type of cars. All these provide possibilities to determine the cost of price of the transportation, its actual unprofitability and give proposals for the reduction of the cost of price in transportation. The principles of tariffs forming are developed as for the passenger' transportation in the suburban trains.
