Essay

The dissertation is devoted to increasing an efficiency of treatment the patients with lens subluxation by applying a method for capsular bag fixation. It was developed the new capsule fixation device which can be utilized in surgical treatment of patients with lens subluxation with help of phacoemulsification method. It was developed the method of the subluxated lens fixation which includes introducing of the proposed device into the anterior chamber through the clear corneal incision, placing it with a rest on the capsule equator and suturing it to the sclera in the limbal area without injury of the capsular bag. In the experimental animal study it was established the possibility of subluxated capsular bag stabilization due to formation of the fibrotic commissure of the W-shaped haptic element of the proposed device with iris and ciliary body. It was established that in cases of zonular dehiscence capsular bag can be stabilized with one or two proposed devices. With the help of optical coherent tomography of the anterior eye segment it was revealed that intraocular lens (IOL) tilt is less in capsular bag fixation groups (mean, 2.45±0.17 degree in the insufficient zonular support group and 2.54±0.20 degree in the lens subluxation group) compared to group with transsclerally sutured IOLs (mean, 6.58±0.84 degree) (Р<0.05).
