For the first time the thesis reveals the process of emergence and development of disperse groups of Bulgarians of Priazovye in the Soviet period based on a study of a wide range of archival sources, factographic materials and our own scientific results through a complex-historical analysis. The research was conducted within the nominal borders of Bulgarians' disperse residence in the Eastern part of Azov coast which is presented by modern territories of Ukrainian Donbass (Donetsk and Lugansk regions), a part of Southern Federal District of Russia (Rostov region and Krasnodar Krai) and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. On a basis of different sources the thesis discloses and summarizes historical reasons, conditions, motivation and ways of resettlement of Bulgarians in Priazovye. The basic migratory stages are highlighted and structured, the interrelation and interdependence between the level of social and economic development of Priazovye and the level of external migrations are unveiled. The governmental mechanisms of regulating the process of settlement of Priazovye in whole and specific industrial regions are studied. The socio-economic and cultural position of disperse groups of Bulgarians during the mentioned timeline is considered. On a basis of current archives of Bulgarian public organizations the influence of socio-political transformations of the end of 1980th on the process of self-organization of ethnic minority is investigated.
