Object - the process of financial support for local governments. Goal - the development of theoretical positions of financial support of local governments and development areas of improvement. Methods - semantic analysis, induction and deduction, formalization and logical approach to study the relevant processes, empirical knowledge, grouping chemicals. Results - There were theoretical generalization and a new resolve current scientific objectives of financial support of local governments. The novelty lies in providing a pathway problem of financial support to local governments and developing recommendations to improve the process. Introduced in the activities of the Association of Ukraine, Main Department of Economy of the Volyn Regional State Administration, the State Tax Administration in the Volyn region and in the educational process in the Ternopil National Economic University. Scope - local financial authorities, local self-government.
