Essay

Thesis is dedicated to research of features of interannual anomalies in the Tropical Pacific ocean-atmosphere system and there manifestations in the hydrometeorological fields over the North Pacific and Atlantic-Europe region using recent re-analyses data sets 1950-2008 and hystorical data sets 1856-2008. On the basis of historical data sets on sea surface temperature anomalies and Southern oscillation index a cluster analysis has been done and three types of El Nino events have been detected. The manifestations of each El Nino type in the sea level pressure, air temperature and sea surface temperature patterns in Pacific and Atlantic-European region.
