The dissertation is devoted to the detailed and successive study of historical basis of handwriting knowledge development. The way of its formation from the accumulation of empiric material to the forming of certain section in forensic science. Main stages of graphology knowledge forming, as the basis of handwriting knowledge are defined and described in the thesis, the peculiarities of researching institutions creation and modern forms of handwriting implementation in criminalistics are mentioned as well.
