Essay

The work is dedicated to studying the nature of impurity-related luminescence centers in phosphors based on CsI and CsBr compounds activated by thallium, europium and copper ions. The author considers the processes of radiative relaxation of different kinds of electronic excitations in these phosphors caused by the introduction of these dopants. In particular, along with the typical intrinsic luminescence of thallium, europium and copper ions, the author has found for the first time the luminescence centers caused by the radiative relaxation of excitons localized around mentioned impurities and has established their energy structure in CsI and CsBr hosts.
