Essay

The dissertation is the research in which the legal problems of the institute of challenge in the criminal proceeding of Ukraine are investigated on the monographic level. The genesis of establishment and development of the institute of challenge in legislation which existed on the Ukrainian lands and also the development of the institute of challenge under the conditions of the independence of Ukraine were investigated. The concept of the institute of challenge, its content and meaning were investigated. The connection of the institute of challenge with the requirements of neutrality and impartiality of criminal procedure was revealed.
