The study shows the characteristics of modern deconstruction of formational and civilizational schematic constructs of history that constitute the conceptual basis for developing a new methodological approach to understanding the social development. Determined their futurological value, which is manifested in a kind of anticipation of K. Marx and A. Toynbee contemporary processes of globalization. Demonstrated the expediency of the use of concepts "Asiatic mode of production" and "civilization" in the study of specifical moments of Ukrainian history.
