The thesis is the first scholarly study of Francoise Mallet-Joris' biographical and autobiographical prose in Ukraine ("Lettre a moi-meme", 1963; "Marie Mancini, Le premier amour de Louis XIV", 1964; "La maison de papier", 1970; "J'aurais voulu jouer de l'accordeon", 1975; "Jeanne Guyon", 1978; "La double confidence", 2000). Combination of biography and autobiography in "La double confidence" results in synthesis of a new genre which can be defined as a duography. The mother-daughter dichotomy ("La double confidence") is analyzed from the psychoanalytical perspective of C. Eliacheff and N. Heinich.
