This thesis focuses on the study of the euphony sources in modern Ukrainian and Italian literary languages through the analysis of their phonemic structures. The research provides unification of the concept of phoneme in both languages and describes the corresponding phonemic systems in terms of their differential features. Ukrainian and Italian phonemic systems are compared, and phonemic structures of head words in sample dictionaries of both languages are established. Distribution of word length in the dictionary samples in both languages has been analysed, while the stock of canonical forms has been determined. A statistical analysis of phonemes usage in various word positions of has been applied, combinatory principles of vowel and consonant phonemes have been revealed, the criteria defining the ease of pronunciation have been singled out.7452
