Essay

The scientific research studies the results of the discussion of theoretical-methodological problems in history at international conventions of historical studies in 1950-1990. In the research the organizational particularities of the conventions and ideological confrontation of the super states during the "Cold War" and the impact thereof have been studied. During 1950-1990 the structure of the International Committee of Historical Studies has been expanded in expense of the National Committees of historians, newly created "in house" committees and affiliated organizations; the activity of the Assembly General and Bureau have been reorganized. Modifications in the organization and the structure of work of the international conventions of historical studies ensured that the theoretical-methodological problems of the history and diverse topics took their place in chronological and geographical section. They provided vast possibilities for exchanging of thoughts between the historians in different countries and regions.
