Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the identification and influence of isomorphic impurities and different types of ionizing radiation on the optical properties of Tutton salts and (CH3)3NHCdCl3 crystals. A new method of Tutton salts crystals growth was proposed. K2MІІ(SO4)2·6H2O (MІІ = Zn, Mg, Co, Ni, Fe, Cd) single crystals and a series of mixed KCNSH, KZCSH, KMgNSH, KCuNSH crystals were grown using our technique. KMІІSH crystals belong monoclinic space group P21/a at room temperature. KCNSH, KCZSH and KMgNSH crystals can be used in medical-biological applications as filters with controllable optical spectral ranges and absorption coefficient. The mechanism of the influence of ionizing radiation was revealed using gamma-spectrometric analysis and model of defect formation in the (CH3)3NHCdCl3 crystals was proposed. Key words: Tutton salts crystals, optical absorption spectra, Raman spectroscopy, radiation defect, ionizing radiation.
