Object of research: time and frequency synchronization processes in modern mobile networks; research objective: improving synchronization quality characteristics in modern mobile networks through research and development of methods and recommendations on optimal implementation of modern time and frequency synchronization protocols in the context of transition to packet transport networks and usage of modern NGMN base stations; improving of distributed TWSTFT time synchronization systems; improving of efficient usage of synchronization equipment for normative functioning of "SDH islands" while shifting from SDH to packet networks; recommendations development on combined time and frequency synchronization network design; research methods: mathematical analysis, probability theory, mathematical model approach; theoretical and practical results, and novelty: recommendations are developed on the choice of the newest protocols for synchronization of a modern backhaul mobile network; recommendations are developed on providing time and frequency synchronization in modern mobile networks using PTP IEEE 1588-2008 protocol for different traffic intensity of channels in packet transport network; method is newly developed for estimating of synchronization channels parameters in modern mobile networks using distributed base stations technology - it differs analytically and by estimating detector diagram and allows improving synchronization quality; methods for processing of synchronization signals and those methods based devices for improvement of distributed TWSTFT synchronization networks was developed and tested; improved is method of synchronization equipment redundancy for increasing quality parameters of "SDH islands" synchronization in packet transport; recommendations are developed on design of combined time and frequency synchronization network for modern mobile networks; degree of implementation: Research Center "UNDIZ"; Research Center "Merydian"; System Integrator "Wircom"; Research Сenter "Iceberg"; sphere of use: technical science, telecommunications.
