Essay

The thesis is devoted to the development and study of low-rise wood frame residential buildings load-carrying capacity and energy efficiency. The schemes of metal-plate connected wood elements testing were developed. It was established that the actual load-carrying capacity is higher than calculated one. The analysis of wood frame buildings elements deflected mode and the de-gree of frame elements carrying capacity was investigated. The calculations data attest the rational use of chosen cross-section dimensions for first and second floors. The experimental and theoretical investigations of wood frame low-rise buildings, which attest the high class of energy efficiency, were conducted. Engineering-and-economical performance of wood frame buildings such as the cost, the terms of construction, energy efficiency conform with the demands to the affordable houses.
