Definition of law enforcement state function is disclosed in the thesis from different scientific points of view. Its essence is determined. Classification of species of law enforcement state function and their administrative and legal regulation are established. The main directions of the activity of the Security Service of Ukraine as a subject for realization of law enforcement state function are analyzed. Theoretical and legal grounds of competence and authorities of the Security Service of Ukraine in the sphere of law enforcement state function realization are characterized. Definition, features and species of forms for realization of law enforcement state function by the Security Service of Ukraine in modern conditions are determined.
