Thesis is devoted to solving current scientific problems - extending the life of the battery locomotives by improving battery run diesel locomotive engines.Defined technical solution schemes modernized launch diesel shunting locomotives. The recommendations for calculating short circuit currents of possible operating conditions of batteries for automotive-type locomotives. Application of new types of batteries with the system size limit inrush current. The proposed technical solutions to improve the system start-up diesel locomotives K6S310DR CHME3 and accepted for implementation in the locomotive depot of Yasinovataya road, consistent implementation of the railway network in Ukraine.
