Object of research – geological structure, the gas deposits with available data relating to gas showings of the Outer zone of the Carpathian Foredeep; subject of research – the gas migration in the context of the gas deposits formation aim – determination the ways of the gas migration and the geological conditions conducive to the accumulation and preservation of its deposits, methods of research: structural, lithologic-facial, comparative tectonical investigations, analysis of the gas deposits exploitation; practical aspects: determined by competitor the mechanism and the ways of gas migration allow to predict the discovery of new gas deposits more correct. Particularly, attention should be paid to the upper part of the regional faults and in the zone under already known fields where the permeable horizons and the stratigraphic discordances are expanded. Prospects of new discoveries of gas accumulations should be expected under the Sarmathian gas deposits in the zone of the Neogene stratigraphic discordance. scientific novelty: there are three stages of the gas migration: 1) the vertical gas migration from deep source along the longitudinal faults in the upper part of which formed Fault injection gas accumulations (FIGA), 2) to FIGA – the lateral filtration through permeable horizons in the presence of traps formed deposits, 3) the vertical gas penetration from formed deposits up due to diffusion and presence of local faults and formation the new deposits. Presence FIGA as the necessary conditions to beginning the lateral migration of gas through permeable horizons and layers. The disjunctive dislocations were systematized and their role in the migration process were established. The ways of migration of the heavy oil type Kokhanivska in Outer zone of the Carpathian Foredeep were recognized;spheres of using: geology of oil and gas.
