Object of research: the category of the comical in Friedrich Durrenmatt’s discourse on drama. A research objective: to define the ways and means of the verbal representation of the comical in Friedrich Durrenmatt’s discourse on drama. Research methods: General scientific principles of the analysis and synthesis, form and content, semasiology and onomasiology; Linguo-Conceptology, Linguo-Poetics, and Linguo-Semiotics, contextually-interpretation analysis, the descriptive analysis, supervision and classification receptions, and also an induction, deduction and quantitative inventories. Results, novelty: This research defines the role and place of Friedrich Durrenmatt’s discourse on drama in the realization of the comical in the second half of the 20th century in conditions of a particular socio-cultural situation for the first time. This thesis specifies the linguistic and poetic realization of the comical as a complex of lexical and syntactic means in Durrenmatt’s idiodiscourse. Apart from that, the author’s fictional model of the world is reproduced in the research and its conceptual organization is specified. The dissertation also provides an analysis of the mental units of various hierarchal and value status with a special focus on the means and ways of their carnivalization. Use sphere: the field of Cognitive and Discursive Linguistics, particularly, Linguo-Conceptology, Linguo-Poetics, and Linguo-Semiotics. Modeling of the conceptual space of the discourse on drama, particularly within the context of the humor culture, plays a very important role in Germanic Linguistics.
